before removal

To remove the main blower, first remove the optical drive... (Roll mouse over image)

...the stand cover... (Roll mouse over image)

...the stand... (Roll mouse over image)

...the rear cover... (Roll mouse over image)

...and the motherboard EMI shield. (Roll mouse over image)

removal

Detach the blower connector from the motherboard.

Remove the remaining two screws for the blower.

Pull the blower out of the unit. (Roll mouse over image)

installation

To replace the main blower, align the top of the blower over the thermal radiator duct. (Roll mouse over image)

Secure the blower with two screws.

Leave the third screw hole open for when the motherboard EMI shield is replaced.

Reconnect the blower connector to the motherboard.
