Touchpanel Kit removal

Before you begin: First remove the USB dongle cap, the right rear cap, the left rear cap, the stand, the T rear cover, the left side cap, and the right side cap. Remove the optical drive eject button, and partially remove the rear IO bracket and the webcam. Remove the USB dongle, the rear cover, the motherboard shield, the thermal module, and the hinge slider. Detach the front bezel from the middle frame and touch panel.

Steps

1. Lay down a soft cloth and place the touch panel and middle frame onto it.
2. Remove the system fan.
3. Peel back the tape for the LVDS connector and detach the LVDS cable from the back of the touch panel.
4. Detach the two connectors from the touch cameras.
5. Remove the connector that runs to the touch panel from the converter board.
6. Lift the middle frame off of the touch panel kit.

Touchpanel Kit replacement

Steps

1. To install a new touch panel kit, first lay the panel face down on a soft surface.
2. Align the middle frame over the panel.
3. Make sure the screw holes at the side of the panel and the frame align but do not replace the screws until you replace the front bezel.
4. Replace the connector to the converter board.
5. Reattach the two connectors to the touch cameras.
6. Replace the LVDS cable to the touch panel and secure with tape.
7. Replace the system fan.
