Scalar Board removal

Before you begin: First remove the USB dongle cap, the right rear cap, the left rear cap, the stand, the T rear cover, the left side cap, and the right side cap. Remove the optical drive eject button, and partially remove the rear IO bracket and the webcam. Remove the USB dongle and the rear cover.

Steps

1. Detach the two connectors from the scalar board.
2. Remove the five screws securing the scalar board to the middle frame.
3. Pull out the board.

Scalar Board replacement

Steps

1. There is a small hole on the scalar board that fits over a small registration peg on the PC.
2. To replace the scalar board, place the hole over the peg and the screw holes over their standoffs in the unit.
3. Replace the five screws.
4. Replace the two connectors to the scalar board.
