Rear Cover removal

Before you begin: First remove the USB dongle cap, the right rear cap, the left rear cap, the stand, the T rear cover, the left side cap and the right side cap.

Steps

  1. Remove the optical drive eject button.
  2. Partially remove the rear IO bracket and pull into the unit.
  3. Detach the motherboard connector from the left side microphone and pull into the unit. 
  4. Detach the webcam holder from the front bezel and pull into the unit.
  5. Pull out the wireless USB keyboard and mouse dongle.
  6. Remove the 19 screws securing the rear cover to the PC.
  7. Pry the cover off of the unit.

Rear Cover replacement


Steps

  1. To replace the rear cover, align the cover over the PC.
  2. Make sure the volume board connector is not trapped under the cover.
  3. Press firmly around all edges until the cover snaps into place.
  4. Replace the 19 screws.
  5. Replace the wireless USB keyboard and mouse dongle.
  6. Press the webcam connector into the cable channel on the rear cover.
  7. Replace the webcam to the front bezel.
  8. Replace the connector to the left side microphone into the cable guide on the rear cover and replace it onto the microphone.
  9. Replace the rear IO bracket
  10. Replace the optical drive eject button.
