Rear Cover removal
Before you begin: First remove the USB dongle cap, the right rear cap, the left rear cap, the stand, the T rear cover, the left side cap and the right side cap.
Steps
- Remove the optical drive eject button.
- Partially remove the rear IO bracket and pull into the unit.
- Detach the motherboard connector from the left side microphone and pull into the unit.
- Detach the webcam holder from the front bezel and pull into the unit.
- Pull out the wireless USB keyboard and mouse dongle.
- Remove the 19 screws securing the rear cover to the PC.
- Pry the cover off of the unit.
Rear Cover replacement
Steps
- To replace the rear cover, align the cover over the PC.
- Make sure the volume board connector is not trapped under the cover.
- Press firmly around all edges until the cover snaps into place.
- Replace the 19 screws.
- Replace the wireless USB keyboard and mouse dongle.
- Press the webcam connector into the cable channel on the rear cover.
- Replace the webcam to the front bezel.
- Replace the connector to the left side microphone into the cable guide on the rear cover and replace it onto the microphone.
- Replace the rear IO bracket
- Replace the optical drive eject button.
