Optical Drive Board removal

Before you begin: First remove the USB dongle cap, the right rear cap, and the right side cap. Push out the optical drive slightly.

Steps

1. Remove the two screws for the optical drive board.
2. Partially pull out the board.
3. Detach the eject button and motherboard connectors from the board before fully removing the board.

Optical Drive Board replacement

Steps

1. To replace the optical drive board, first replace the eject button and motherboard connectors to the underside of the board. 
2. Place the board into the unit and replace the two screws.
3. Make sure the eject button connector is routed into the cable guide at the bottom of the optical drive.
4. Slide the optical drive back in to engage with the optical drive board.
