Optical Drive removal

Before you begin: First remove the USB dongle cap, the right rear cap, and the right side cap.

Steps

1. Loosen the captive screw for the optical drive.
2. Push the drive out to the side and remove it from the unit.
3. If installing a new optical drive, remove the retaining bracket from the old optical drive by removing its two screws.
4. Attach the bracket to the new optical drive with the two screws

Optical Drive replacement

Steps

1. To replace the optical drive, slide the drive into its slot until it engages with the optical drive board.
2. Tighten the captured screw.
