Motherboard IO Shield removal

Before you begin: First remove the USB dongle cap, the right rear cap, the left rear cap, the stand, the T rear cover, the left side cap, and the right side cap. Remove the optical drive eject button, and partially remove the rear IO bracket and the webcam. Remove the USB dongle, the rear cover and the motherboard EMI shield.

Steps

1. Detach the three screws for the motherboard IO shield.
2. Pull off the motherboard IO shield.

Steps

1. To replace the motherboard IO shield, align the port cutouts on the shield over the motherboard IO.
2. Press the shield until the screw holes on the shield align with the screw holes on the PC.
3. Replace the three screws for the motherboard shield.
