Hard Drive removal

Before you begin: First remove the USB dongle cap and the right rear cap.

Steps

  1. Loosen the captive screw for the hard drive.
  2. Grasp the hard drive handle and pull the hard drive out to the side, then up and out of the PC.
  3. If replacing the hard drive, detach the four screws on the cage – two on each side.
  4. Slide the drive out of the cage.

Steps

  1. To replace the hard drive in the cage, slide the drive into the cage until the screw holes on the side of the drive and the cage align.
  2. Replace the four screws.
  3. The hard drive cage has four tabs on the bottom that fit into four slots on the middle frame.
  4. To replace the hard drive into the PC, place the tabs on the cage near their slots, then slide the hard drive sideways until secure.
  5. Press the handle down into place.
  6. Tighten the captured screw to secure the hard drive in the PC.
