Speaker removal

Before you begin : Remove the stand, optical drive door, rear cover, and minor bracket.

Note: This content was developed with a pre-production computer that used Phillips-head screws. Your computer will have Torx-15 screws.

Note: This procedure applies to either left or right speaker.

  1. Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board.
  2. Remove the three P1 Phillips-head screws that secure the speaker to the front bezel.
  3. Lift and remove the speaker.

Speaker replacement

  1. Align the speaker with the screw holes on the front bezel.
  2. Replace the three P1 Phillips-head screws that secure the speaker to the front bezel.
  3. Connect the speaker cable to the system board.

Note: Connect the left speaker cable to the SPKL connector. Connect the right speaker cable to the SPKR connector.
