
Rear cover removal
Before you begin: Remove the stand and optical drive door.
Note: This content was developed with a pre-production computer that used Phillips-head screws. Your computer will have Torx-15 screws.
- Remove the seven P1 Phillips-head screws that secure the left, right, and bottom sides of the rear cover to the chassis.
- Partially lift the bottom of the rear cover and then push in on the top corner near the optical drive to help disengage the retention tabs at the top of the cover from the chassis.
- Lift and remove the rear cover.
Rear cover replacement
- Place the rear cover on the chassis so that the retention tabs at the top of the cover enter the slots in the chassis.
- Lower the rear cover and push down until it snaps into place.
- Replace the seven P1 Phillips-head screws that secure the left, right, and bottom sides of the rear cover to the chassis.
