
Minor bracket removal
Before you begin: Remove the stand, optical drive door, and rear cover.
Note: This content was developed with a pre-production computer that used Phillips-head screws. Your computer will have Torx-15 screws.
- Remove the seven P1 Phillips-head screws that secure the top, left, and bottom sides of the minor bracket to the chassis, noting their location for reinstallation.
- Loosen the guide tape securing cables to the minor bracket.
- Disconnect the control board cable.
- Lift the minor bracket off the chassis taking care not to catch any loose cables.
Minor bracket replacement
- Place the minor bracket on the chassis and align the screws holes.
Important! Ensure that the control board, speaker, and wireless antenna cables are routed through the openings on the bottom and left edges of the minor bracket. Take care that no loose cables are pinched between the minor bracket and main bracket.
- Replace the seven P1 Phillips-head screws that secure the top, left, and bottom sides of the minor bracket to the chassis.
- Connect the cable to the control board.
- Secure the loose speaker and Wi-Fi antenna cables to the chassis with guide tape.
