
Control board removal
Before you begin: Remove the stand, optical drive door, and rear cover.
Note: This content was developed with a pre-production computer that used Phillips-head screws. Your computer will have Torx-15 screws.
- Remove the P1 Phillips-head screw that secures the main bracket in front of the control board.
- Remove the 5mm hex nut that secures the control board to the main bracket.
- Slide the board off of the screw post and disconnect the switch cable.
- Remove the control board.
Control board replacement
- Connect the switch cable to the control board.
- Align the hole in the board with the screw post and slide it up against the main bracket.
- Replace the 5mm hex nut that secures the control board to the main bracket.
- Replace the P1 Phillips-head screw that secures the main bracket in front of the control board.
