
DC power cable removal
Before you begin : Remove the stand, optical drive door, rear cover, and minor bracket.
Note: This content was developed with a pre-production computer that used Phillips-head screws. Your computer will have Torx-15 screws.
- Remove the guide tape that secures the DC power cable to the chassis.
- Disconnect the cable from the system board.
- Remove the two P1 Phillips-head screws that secure the DC connector to the mounting posts on the system board and chassis.
Note: The two screws are of different size. Take note of their location for reinstallation.
- Lift and remove the DC power cable.
DC power cable replacement
- Align the DC power cable with the mounting posts.
- Replace the two P1 Phillips-head screws that secure the DC connector to the mounting posts.
- Connect the cable to the system board.
- Replace the guide tape that secures the DC power cable to the chassis.
