DC power cable removal

Before you begin : Remove the stand, optical drive door, rear cover, and minor bracket.

Note: This content was developed with a pre-production computer that used Phillips-head screws. Your computer will have Torx-15 screws.

  1. Remove the guide tape that secures the DC power cable to the chassis.
  2. Disconnect the cable from the system board.
  3. Remove the two P1 Phillips-head screws that secure the DC connector to the mounting posts on the system board and chassis.

    Note: The two screws are of different size. Take note of their location for reinstallation.

  4. Lift and remove the DC power cable.

DC power cable replacement

  1. Align the DC power cable with the mounting posts.
  2. Replace the two P1 Phillips-head screws that secure the DC connector to the mounting posts.
  3. Connect the cable to the system board.
  4. Replace the guide tape that secures the DC power cable to the chassis.
