SO-DIMM Memory Modules removal

Before you begin: Remove the rear cover.

Steps

  1. Loosen the captive screw for the EMI shield over the memory socket.
  2. Pull out the memory EMI shield.
  3. Gently pull out on the retaining lever located on each side of the SO DIMM.
  4. The module will pop out to a 45 degree angle from the socket.  The SO DIMM module can now be pulled free.

Steps

  1. There is a small notch on one side of each SO DIMM module. There is a small tab on one side of each SO DIMM socket.
  2. To replace an SO DIMM, angle the module to about 45 degrees and engage the notch on the module with the tab in the socket.
  3. Press the SO DIMM down into place until the retaining levers snap into position over the sides of the module.
  4. To replace the memory EMI shield, place the tab on the bottom of the shield into its slot on the main system EMI shield and lay it into place.
  5. Tighten the screw on the EMI shield.
