Optical Drive removal

Before you begin: Remove the rear cover.

Steps

1. Loosen the captive screw for the optical drive.
2. Slightly lift the rear of the drive and firmly push the drive out to the side to remove it from the unit.

Optical Drive replacement

Steps

1. There are guides on the optical drive holder that the optical drive fits underneath.
2. To replace the optical drive, slide the drive in under the guides in the holder.
3. You may need to lift the screw edge of the drive to fully slide the drive into place into the optical drive cable.
4. Tighten the captured screw.
