Hard Drive Cable removal

Before you begin: Remove the rear cover and the hard drive.

Steps

1. Detach the two connectors for the hard drive cable from the motherboard. Note that the Serial ATA connector has a latch that must be pressed to release the connector.
2. Untape the power cable from the middle frame.
3. Remove the two screws for the hard drive cable.
4. Pull the hard drive cable out of the unit.

Steps

1. To replace the hard drive cable, align the two screw holes on the cable over the standoffs on the middle frame. 
2. Replace the two screws.
3. Re-tape the power cable to the middle frame.
4. Replace the two connectors for the hard drive cable to the motherboard.
