Before servicing the system, remove
any CD or DVDs from the PC抯 optical drive.
Turn off the system, either through the system
menus or with the power button.
Disconnect the AC power cord.
Remember to detach all cables that connect to
the PC.
Work on top of an anti-static mat whenever
possible.
Place a soft cloth on the antistatic mat.
You will need a foam pad to place the unit flat on a table before the stand is removed. You will also need to use the foam pad when removing the front bezel.
Wear an ESD wrist strap...
...attached to the PC when working with sensitive components that are inside the PC to avoid damaging them.
